Journal Writing Prompt: Fulfillment
“There are certain things that are fundamental to human fulfillment. The essence of these needs is captured in the phrase ‘to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy’. The need to live is our physical need for such things as food, clothing, shelter, economical well-being, health. The need to love is our social need to relate to other people, to belong, to love and to be loved. The need to learn is our mental need to develop and to grow. And the need to leave a legacy is our spiritual need to have a sense of meaning, purpose, personal congruence, and contribution”
~Stephen R. Covey
In your journal, write about your definition of fulfillment. Is it the same as Covey’s definition? Is it different? Do you prioritize your day around these needs? If so, how do you do it? If not, why not?
Daily journal writing prompt bonus: Where are you on your path to fulfillment (at least in Covey’s terms)? In your journal, write about the following:
- Are you physical needs being fulfilled?
- Are your social needs being fulfilled?
- Are your mental needs being fulfilled?
- Are your spiritual needs being fulfilled?
If they are, write about what you are doing to fulfill those needs. If not, consider what you can do to work towards filling those needs.
Happy Journaling!
