Journal Writing Prompt: Gone in Sixty Seconds

By Dee · Thursday, September 1st, 2005

“For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

In your journal, consider this quote. How many minutes of happiness did you lose today? Can you remember why? Do you think you would remember in a month, 2 months, a year? If not, was it worth losing those sixty seconds?

Journal writing prompt bonus: What can you do to remind yourself of this quote when you start to feel your blood boil? How can you ingrain this in your heart so that you weigh the cost of your anger, before letting it steal precious time that could be spent being happy?

Happy Journaling!
