Journal Writing Prompt: Regret

By Dee · Wednesday, January 4th, 2006

“Never regret.  If it’s good, it’s wonderful.  If it’s bad, it’s experience.”

~Victoria Holt

I often see people reminisce about things they would change in the past.  On the one hand, it means that they see their past errors and wish to change, but, on the other, they are rejecting the importance of making mistakes in our learning process that is life.

In your journal, write about whether you have regrets about past experiences.  Why do you have them or why have you chosen not to?  What did you learn from those negative experiences that can help you in the future?

Journal writing prompt bonus:  If someone asked you, today, what you would change about your past, how would you answer?  If you would change things, take some time, in your journal, to really work out the things you learned from those experiences and how they have shaped who you are.

Happy Journaling!
