Sometimes, it’s a nice reminder to future generations to record your thoughts on current events - no matter how much you try to avoid them in your day to day life (believe me, I can relate - some days current events are the last thing I want entering into my mind!) In your journal, record a current event that seems so unbelievable, future generations will wonder if it’s really true. In your entry, make sure to record a source and today’s date so that your future can look it up later!
Daily journal writing prompt bonus: There is so much humor in the news today. It may not appear outwardly funny - but, some high profile people say the most ridiculous things, you can’t help but laugh. In your journal, comment on a humorous news item. As I said, even if it’s just something ridiculous that someone said, comment on it, because even if you are journaling for yourself, you will be able to look back sometime and giggle yet again - getting a little “extra mileage” out of the news.
